OLNEY, Md. — A 38-year-old man is dead after he veered off the road and struck a utility pole in Olney Sunday morning.

Montgomery County Police responded to Bowie Mill Road and Cashell Road around 2:45 Sunday morning for reports of a serious crash.

When police arrived, they located a gray 2007 Toyota Corolla damaged after striking a utility pole. The driver, Bradley Nolan Watts, of Olney, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary investigation suggests Watts was driving northbound on Bowie Mill Road and as he was approaching Cashell Road, he veered off the street striking the utility pole.

Police said it is unclear why Watts swerved off the road.

The investigation remains ongoing.
