PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (WUSA9) -- More homes in Prince William County have been hit by random gunfire, according to police.

"That's really disturbing because if it's random, they could be shooting at my house and my wife and I could be in the bed and you hear gunshots," said one neighbor.

Police said Sunday night someone fired three gun shots into a home on Stockholm Way in Woodbridge.

Just one mile away, six homes, were also hit with bullets. It happened on Banjo court February 18th. Both streets are close to Fannie W Fitzgerald elementary school.

"We heard a gun shot and it sounded really close. We just started running, said neighbor Elijah Thompson.

Five miles away, on Saturday morning, on Lindendale Road another home was hit with multiple gun shots. A parked car was also pierced by two bullets. This street also borders an elementary school.

"This is not good for my kids. They're nine and four and sometimes they play on the lawn and we are outside at night so it's really scary for us," said Ranjane Sharma.

During the last six weeks, there have been at least 10 incidents of bullets hitting homes in Prince William County.

About a month ago, WUSA9 cameras captured a hole left by a nine millimeter bullet that went right through a child's bedroom in Prince William County.

Police said all the shootings are random and not connected.

Some neighbors said their communities have gone downhill in recent years.

"From what I see, it may just be neighbors who live next door who recently moved in who are shady."

"These shootings are crazy and it's not normal," said Thompson.

Police have increased patrols in the affected neighborhoods. They continue to investigate.
