Waldorf rollover crash involves Charles County Sheriff Office vehicle

The incident happened near a high school on Waldorf.

WALDORF, Md. — A Charles County Sheriff Department vehicle crashed and flipped over in the woods in Waldorf, Md., Tuesday morning, Charles County Sheriff's Office said.

The crash happened at 10:05 a.m. on Smallwood Drive West near Middletown Road in Waldorf. The incident happened near Westlake High School, police said.

No other cars were involved in the crash. 

Authorities continue to investigate the incident as a single-car crash.

The officer involved in the incident is said to be OK, police said. The extent of injuries, if any, were not yet known.

Authorities believe there was no pursuit that led up to the crash.
