After stabbing his mother to death, police said Dunn removed her from the car and left her body in the street.

Charles County Sheriff’s detectives arrested a 32-year-old Waldorf man in connection with the murder of his mother.

Mario Marchell Dunn is accused of stabbing his mother, Swanda Ruegenea Dunn, 57, while they were driving home from a relative’s house.

Her body was found on January 11th on Old Washington Road, near Smallwood Drive.

Police said they have no clear motive.

Police said Dunn was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, assault and other related charges.

Mario Dunn has a violent criminal history.

Court records revealed he was arrested nearly a half dozen times on assault charges in the last 12 years.

Mario Dunn also had a second peace order was filed against him in 2006.

A family friend told WUSA9 Mario Dunn suffers from mental disabilities, but police have not confirmed that information.

On the same day Swanda Dunn's body was found, a woman filed a peace order against Mario Dunn.
