Police: Man fatally hit by car in Rockville, Maryland

The driver remained at the scene while the police department conducted their investigation.

ROCKVILLE, Md. — A 46-year-old pedestrian was killed after being hit by the driver of a car in Montgomery County Thursday morning, according to police.

Officers with the Montgomery County Department of Police responded to the area of Medical Center Way and Medical Center Drive in Rockville on Nov. 17 just before 8:30 a.m., after a report of a crash involving a pedestrian.

At the scene, officers found a man, later identified as Paul Shinn of Adamstown, Maryland, suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was taken to the hospital for treatment, but later died due to the injuries sustained in the crash.

Through an investigation, detectives were able to determine that Shinn was crossing Medical Center Way walking southbound when he was struck by a 2014 Nissan Altima. At the time of the incident, the car was traveling westbound on Medical Center Way towards Shady Grove Hospital.

The driver remained at the scene while the police department conducted their investigation.
