5 people arrested in connection to 15-year-old's murder in Prince George's County

All five of the suspects are charged with first-degree murder.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — Five people have been arrested in connection to the death of 15-year-old Nelson Ramos that happened in Langley Park, Maryland in April, according to Prince George's County Police (PGPD). 

The suspects arrested and charged for Ramos' murder are William Rivera- Martinez, 20, Jiecsin Marcelo Portillo Cruz, 19, Edras Araeli Lopez-Lopez, 20, Mario Alexander Clarios Arias, 21, and Marlon Steven Miguel Ramirez, 18, PGPD said in a statement. All five of the suspects are charged with first-degree murder. 

The murder happened on April 7 around 3 p.m. in the area of Ruatan Northwest Branch Trail. Officers responded to a welfare check on the trail and found Ramos dead, according to PGPD.

Rivera-Martinez is in custody in Fairfax County, Virginia, awaiting extradition. A court commissioner ordered the remaining suspects held without bond at the county’s Department of Corrections, according to PGPD.
