Man sentenced to 32 years in prison for child pornography, faces second sentencing in Prince George's Co.

The man was convicted of taking explicit pictures of two young girls while they slept.

GREENBELT, Md. — A Maryland man will spend decades behind bars after he was convicted of producing child pornography.

According to a release from the Maryland U.S. Attorney’s Office, 57-year-old Carl Gage Linden was sentenced Wednesday to 32 years in federal prison and a lifetime of supervised release. Additionally, he must pay restitution to the victims of just over $25,000, pay a special assessment of $200 and register as a sex offender upon his release from prison.

Police arrested Linden after one of his victims found explicit photos of herself on his phone. Investigators say they found dozens of videos, photos and images depicting the sexual abuse of two young victims, between 7 and 11 years old, on Linden's laptop and cell phone. He reportedly took explicit pictures of the two young girls while they slept.

Linden pleaded guilty to charges of second-degree assault and third and fourth-degree sexual offenses after he was arrested on Nov. 12, 2020.

As part of his plea agreement on the federal charges, Linden also pleaded guilty to related sex abuse charges in Prince George’s County Circuit Court. He will be sentenced in that case later this month.
