PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. - The family of a Prince George's County police officer who died in the line of duty is filing a wrongful death lawsuit.
Detective Jacai Colson was killed by friendly fire during an attack outside a police station in 2016.
The lawsuit claims that the officer who killed Colson showed a 'reckless disregard for human life' by shooting through an obstructed view.
That officer, Taylor Krauss, was cleared by a grand jury.
In addition to Krauss, the lawsuit seeks damages from Prince George's County.
