2 people in their 70s killed in house fire in Anne Arundel County

Two firefighters were also injured while battling the house fire, officials say.

PASADENA, Md. — Two people are dead after a house fire in Pasadena early Thursday morning, according to Anne Arundel County Fire Department.

The fire happened just after midnight at a home located in the 1300 block of Thomas Road, fire officials said.

The incident led to the death of 79-year-old Patsie L. Griffin and 74-year-old James Griffin, who lived in the home, according to firefighters.

Officials also said two firefighters sustained minor injuries while battling the flames.

The cause of the fire is unclear. Fire crews were at the scene Thursday morning investigating the fatal fire.
