FALLS CHURCH, Md. (WUSA9) -- A man is in the hospital and has life-threatening injuries after a gun was accidentally discharged late Sunday night, Fairfax County police said.
The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. in the 2900 block of Stillwood Ct. in Falls Church.
Police say a male and female were heard screaming outside an apartment complex.
When police got to the scene, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was transported to the hospital.
Police now say the gun was accidentally discharged and that the suspect and victim knew each other.
There is no threat to public safety.
