Man arrested in Dunn Loring Metro stabbing in Vienna

VIENNA, Va. (WUSA9) -- One person is injured and another has been arrested after a stabbing at the Dunn Loring Metro station in Vienna early Monday morning, Fairfax police said.

The stabbing happened around 7:30 a.m. after a fight reportedly broke out, authorities said. When officers got to the scene they found a man suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. Police said the victim was taken to the hospital.

Authorities were able to make a quick arrest thanks to video footage from Metro's security footage.

After the stabbing the suspect hopped onto an Orange line train going to New Carrolton. Transit Police were able to take the man into custody without incident at Rosslyn. His knife was also recovered.

According to police the suspect had several fake IDs. His name has not been confirmed at this time. He is believed to be in his mid 40s.

Police have not determined a motive for the stabbing at this time.
