DISTRICT HEIGHTS, Md. — Lockdowns for two schools have been lifted after a barricade situation following a double shooting that injured two people Monday afternoon in Prince George's County, police said.
The shooting happened around 1:40 p.m. outside a home on Daventry Terrace in District Heights.
One person was taken to a hospital in critical condition. A second person sustained non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
A shooter was believed to be barricaded in a nearby building, authorities said. Police asked residents in the Royal Plaza town homes to stay indoors for some time.

Authorities said the lockdown was lifted for Drew-Freeman Middle School shortly before 4 p.m., and was lifted a short time later for Suitland High School.
