Toryumon Japanese House opens its doors downtown with sushi, ramen and more

WASHINGTON -- Looking to chow down on some Asian fusion fare? A new spot has you covered. Called Toryumon Japanese House, the new addition is located at 1901 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, in downtown Washington.

Start your meal with an array of appetizers, including sesame ginger salad and avocado salad. The appetizer menu also includes meat-heavy options like pork belly steamed buns with katsu sauce.

For the main course, Toryumon offers plenty of sashimi options, specialty sushi rolls and hibachi entrees. Hungry for soup? The menu features Tokyo-style ramen, including negi ramen: broth and noodles topped with chashu (pork belly), scallions, egg and fish powder.

The new Asian fusion place has proven popular thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of 12 reviews on Yelp.

Kenneth N., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 12, said, "This new restaurant has good vibes. Waitstaff was new but good and attentive. Ramen was good and customizable to order with many different toppings."

And Aaron L. said, "Great ramen. Great sushi. If you like Asian food, you need to try it out."
