28-year-old seriously injured after being shot in Germantown

GERMANTOWN, Md. -- A 28-year-old man is seriously injured after a shooting near 7-Eleven early Monday morning, Montgomery County police said.

During an investigation, police learned the victim and a group of individuals were involved in a dispute near 7-Eleven located in the 19700 block of Crystal Rock Drive. During the dispute, the victim was shot.

The victim did not know the individuals that approached him.

Around 2:15 a.m., the victim, with an apparent gunshot wound in the torso, approached a security guard at Germantown Emergency Center in the 19700 block of Germantown Road. He was transported to a local trauma center.

No details are available on the victim or suspect at this time.
