VIDEO: Four vehicles, keys stolen from inside Silver Spring luxury car dealership

The four unknown suspects smashed the window of the car dealership and stole four luxury vehicles and an undisclosed number of car keys.

SILVER SPRING, Md. — Montgomery County police are searching for a group of suspects who raided a car dealership in Silver Spring, Maryland, and stole four luxury vehicles.

Officers were called to the Universal Auto Group, located in the 2200 block of Circle in Silver Spring for the report of a commercial burglary around 1:50 a.m. Monday.

The four unknown suspects smashed the window of the car dealership and stole four luxury vehicles and an undisclosed number of car keys.

Police say at least four luxury vehicles, including a 2017 White Merz Benz GLS, 2019 Gold Merz Benz GLC, 2019 White Merz Benz S450, and 2019 White BMW X3, were stolen off of the car dealership lot.

All the cars had 'Universal Auto Group' temporary registration tags, police said. The business was closed at the time, and no injuries were reported. Monday afternoon police released surveillance video of the incident

Broken glass was seen inside and outside of the Universal Auto Group as the employees worked to clean it all up. Crews were seen working on the garage. Another work crew reinstalled new glass in the window.

The owner told WUSA9 despite the widespread power outages across Montgomery County from the plane crash, they did have power at the time of the incident. He also said their surveillance cameras captured what happened, but says that all of the suspects were wearing masks.

A neighboring business owner told WUSA9 he wasn't surprised that this happened, because he's been seeing it happen at other dealerships on the news. No suspects are in custody at this time, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
