The son of former D.C. mayor, Marion Barry, has died, as first reported by WUSA9's Bruce Johnson.
Marion "Christopher" Barry, Jr. was 36 years old. He was former mayor Marion Barry's only child.
According to the police report, drugs may have been to blame. The report said he was "acting crazy/different" then he suddenly "dropped."
Barry was found unconscious and unresponsive. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead just after 2 a.m. Sunday morning.
He was a candidate for councilmember for Ward 8 in 2015.
D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser took to Twitter to pay her respects to Barry.
