No passes needed to enter National Museum of African American History & Culture from Dec. 26-30

Okay folks, this is not a drill, but more of a holiday miracle.

WASHINGTON — While we're on a holiday high, the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture decided to give us a gem that would make you want to squeeze in a museum visit for the holidays.

Starting Dec. 26, not only will the museum extend their hours from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., but you won't need a pass to enter.

Woohoo!

The no-pass entry will be eligible from Dec. 26 to Dec. 30. After those dates, the museum will resume back to its regular schedule.

Large groups of 10 or more are still required to get a pass to enter the museum.

If you miss this opportunity, no worries you have several options to gain entry into the museum.

1. You can grab advanced timed entry passes for individuals on the first Wednesday of each month.

2. You can get same-day timed entry passes online starting at 6:30 a.m. every day. Additional passes are usually available at 9:30 a.m. and every half hour until tickets are gone.

3. Or you can do the walk-up entry and grab tickets on weekdays starting at 1p.m. during peak season (March-August) or all day during off-peak season (September-February).

Since opening three years ago, more than six million visitors have visited the National Museum of African American History and Culture, according to the museum's press team. The museum is the largest cultural destination showcasing the African American story and its impact on American and world history.

For more information about the museum's exhibits visit their website. You can follow them on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat—or call Smithsonian information at (202) 633-1000.
