The East Falls Church Metro train station is currently closed after a train derailed Friday morning, Metro said.

Due to the derailment, Orange and Silver lines are being impacted through Saturday. There is currently no service on the Orange Line between West Falls Church and Ballston and no service on the Silver Line between McLean and Ballston.

A total of 75 people were on the train and were off-loaded, Arlington Fire said.

"We're stuck in the middle of the highway and I hear what sounds like a gas stove is on but no fire," a rider said.

One person was injured.

"I hit my head on the window hard, but I should be okay. Felt like what I'd imagine an earthquake would feel like," another rider said.

Arlington Fire said that the derailment at the platform is minor.

Bus shuttles are now in place.

Customers west of Ballston are being urged to use different travel options Friday morning due to the derailment.
