WASHINGTON — One person is dead after a masked man walked into a laborer temp agency in Northeast D.C. and shot at two men who were inside of an office Thursday morning, Metropolitan police said. 

The shooting happened at Trojan Labor located in the 1700 block of Hamlin St. just before 6 a.m.

When police got to the scene they found two men suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. One victim was found conscious and the other was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim who is alive was taken to the hospital and is in surgery.

Police later identified the deceased victim as 32-year-old David Anthony Remen of La Crosse, Wisconsin.

During a press conference police said they do not believe this was a robbery and are not sure of the motive behind the shooting. 

Police said the suspect is between 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet 2 inches in height. He was wearing a multi-colored top with white running down the sleeves and the shoulders, red in the middle and black towards the bottom. His pants were black and he was wearing a mask. Police said he also had gloves on. He fled the area on foot.
