The Stanley Cup has seen a lot of D.C. since the Caps arrived with it following their historic win against the Vegas Golden Knights.
From a chance meeting with Ivanka Trump to a guest appearance at Nats Park and more, here’s where the Stanley Cup and the players have been celebrating:
Friday, June 8
The Caps arrived back at Dulles Airport, Stanley Cup in tow. Ovi was immediately seen, hoisting the Stanley Cup above his head, as he walked down the stairs from the plane. The Caps then boarded a bus to head to their next destination: Don Tito!
Don Tito, Arlington, Va.
That’s right, the Caps headed right to rooftop bar Don Tito in Arlington. They were seen periodically throughout the night carrying the Cup over their heads as crowds cheered. One fan captured a video of the Caps spraying champagne over the rooftop balcony to crowds below.
Saturday, June 9
The Caps and the Stanley Cup were honorable guests on Saturday afternoon at the Nats game against the San Francisco Giants. Ovi threw out the first pitch, which took him two tries. The Cup was watching just beyond the pitcher’s mound.
This is where it gets even more fun – the Caps started their Saturday evening at the Georgetown Waterfront, where they downed a few beers.
Did keg stands out of the Cup...
And then took a memorable dip in the fountain (Yes, Ovi is shirtless).
Maryland native Katie Ledecky took to Twitter to comment on Ovi’s form.
And how else to transport the Cup except in a cab?
Afterwards, the gang (and the Cup) headed off to Café Milano, a popular haunt of celebrities and politicians alike, to keep the party going.
And who should they run into? None other than Ivanka Trump, alongside husband Jared Kushner.
Not everyone immediately went to Café Milano. Some of the Caps headed to Tattoo Paradise in Adams Morgan. According to the Instagram accounts of Jakub Vrana and Andre Burakovsky, they got inked. Though the Cup didn’t technically join them at Tattoo Paradise, they got it tattooed on, so it gets an honorable mention.
Ovi’s home and bed
The party seemed to end there for Ovi who, according to his and his wife’s Instagram stories, headed home to a full house. The Cup (and Ovi) then went to catch some ZZZs.
For other players, the night was still young. They headed to keep the party going at St. Yves’s in Dupont Circle.
Braden Holtby was spotted at Gypsy Sally’s, according to the Twitter page of the band performing there.
Sunday, June 10
It’s probably safe to say that the Caps (and the Cup) spent Sunday recovering. Though, from Ovi's expecting wife's Instagram story, it looks like they spent the day having a BBQ. Ovi, of course, is still wearing a championship hat.
The celebration will continue at Tuesday's parade. Get all the details on how to join in here.
Tuesday, June 12
The Caps had their final celebration on Tuesday as they paraded down Constitution Avenue before rallying on the National Mall. Their buses, of course, had beer on board. However, later that night, Ovi couldn't resist but share a final slow dance with his beloved trophy.
