WASHINGTON -- A Capitol Hill man was able to thank the first responders who saved is life. 

Jeff Roth was out for a run when his heart suddenly stopped. When he collapsed and hit his head on a nearby car, local officers, fire and Emergency Medical Services crews were nearby and able to resuscitate Roth.

"I'm one person out of a large city, it's absolutely incredible," Roth said. "It's life-changing for me."

Doctor's don't know why he collapsed, but said he could've suffered permanent brain damage if he wasn't revived as quickly as he was.

Roth was glad he was able to thank the men and women who rescued him.

"I just really wanted to thank them and let them know an action that took maybe a matter of minutes for them, changed my life and my family's life forever," Roth said.
