DC's power eagle couple appear to be back together

Justice, the male eagle, briefly disappeared last month, right before Liberty laid a pair of eggs.

WASHINGTON — It looks like one of D.C.'s most famous power couples is officially back on. 

Liberty and Justice, the bald eagles nesting above the D.C. Police Academy in Southeast, D.C. appear to be back together.

They were spotted on camera, mating.

Justice, the male eagle, briefly disappeared last month, right before Liberty laid a pair of eggs.

Another male eagle was spotted in the nest, leading some to wonder if the longtime love birds had broken up.

But now, it seems the partners of 14 years have reunited for good, although they'll be empty-nesters this spring.

With all the drama, they weren't able to incubate their eggs long enough, and experts don't believe they'll hatch.
