WASHINGTON — Single and ready to mingle? Well you are in luck, because a new survey shows that D.C. is actually a good place for dating. If you are single however, D.C. also ranks as the loneliest city on Valentine's Day. 

The Apartment List report ranks Washington, D.C. as the 7th best city out of 66. The survey shows that men in general are significantly more satisfied when it comes to dating than women. 

The same rule applies to men in D.C.  

Dating ranked at number 6 for men and at number 8 for women. 

For those of you who have given up on the dating scene in D.C., then you may want to consider moving to any of the following cities below:

  2. Charlotte, NC
  3. San Francisco, CA   
  4. Minneapolis, MN    
  5. Little Rock, AR    
  6. Phoenix, AZ   
  7. Washington, DC   
  8. Durham, NC    
  9. Columbus, OH

But don't get too down on yourself if you haven't found your true love just yet. D.C. also happens to be home to the nation's loneliest group of people

According to to the US Census Bureau reports that 70 percent of D.C.'s adult population is single. That is higher than 20 percent of any other region in the country.
