Evans has admitted to using his government email address to seek business opportunities with companies that lobby the D.C. government.

Before the vote to reprimand him, Evans offered an apology.

Evans said going forward, he'll work tirelessly to restore the trust of his constituents and colleagues. He's the council's longest-serving member.

Evans was allowed to retain oversight over the office of the chief financial officer, and the D.C. Lottery. He also serves on the Metro Board.
