Can you guess how many books there are? Capitol Hill Books holds contest

The winner gets a $50 gift certificate to Capitol Hill Bookstore and the owner Jim "The Admiral's" voice on their voicemail.

WASHINGTON -- A local bookstore is holding a friendly competition to see who can guess how many books their store currently has.

Capitol Hill Bookstore, a used bookstore located on historic Capitol Hill in D.C. known for its plentiful inventory and winding stacks of books, is holding a contest to see how many books they have.

In a Twitter post, the store announced that the person who can guess how many books they have will win a $50 gift certificate and the owner Jim “The Admiral” Toole’s voice on their voicemail. Jim is the owner of the store.

Each person will be allowed one guess and the closest guess will win. Only guesses that appear publicly on Twitter or Instagram can win.

There is a hint: it's not a small number, the bookstore says. And anyone who has visited the store, which is stacked floor to ceiling with pages, can easily guess that.

Already, Twitter users are guessing between 20,000 books to 100,000 books. The bookstore has said -- without any identifying information -- that someone is close.

All guesses must be submitted by Sunday, July 8th at midnight EST. The winner will be announced on Monday, July 9th.
