An apartment fire in NW DC is reportedly under control after firefighters rushed to the scene on Thursday afternoon.

DC Fire and EMS confirmed on Twitter a 2nd alarm fire at Vermont and Q Street NW.

Photo and video of the fire first started emerging on Twitter at around noon. DC Fire and EMS reported that the fire came from the roof of a four-story occupied apartment building. Multiple apartments were involved. One firefighter suffered from non-serious heat exhaustion.

The plume of smoke from the fire could be reportedly seen from as far away as Ronald Reagan Airport.

Investigators are currently looking into the cause of the fire.
