2 young boys injured after being shot in DC

One of the victims was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries. The second victim is expected to survive.

WASHINGTON -- Two young boys were rushed to the hospital early Friday morning after being shot in Southeast D.C.

According to Metropolitan Police, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 2400 block of Hartford Street around 12:19 a.m. When police arrived, they found two juvenile males suffering from gunshot wounds. In a tweet, WUSA9 reporter Matt Gregory said one of the victims was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries. The second victim is expected to survive.

Right now members of MPD's Violent Crimes Branch is on the scene conducting the investigation.

So far no info is available on possible suspects or motive in the case.
