GAITHERSBURG, Md. -- Maryland police are searching for a driver in connection with a crash that left a pedestrian dead on southbound I-95 at the ICC late Monday night.
The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. on the southbound interstate 95 just south of Maryland 200 (ICC). Police said an unidentified Hispanic male was in a lane of I-95 at the time of the crash. A Honda Fit was going in the southbound lanes and crashed into the pedestrian.
Two people inside of the vehicle told police that the driver fled the scene right after the crash.
Police shut down the area earlier for the investigation. Two right lanes are now open on southbound I-95 at the ICC. Police hope to open more soon.
Police are asking any witnesses to call Maryland State police.
