BETHESDA, Md., (WUSA) -- Sauder Woodworking recalls 8-thousand chest of drawers because they pose a tip over hazard.
The Storybook brand wood dressers, sold exclusively on Walmart’s website, are unstable if not anchored to the wall and can seriously injure or even kill children.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says the product does not comply with the voluntary safety standard, ASTM F2057-14.
According to the independent federal regulatory agency unsecured large pieces of furniture, including televisions, kill a child every two weeks, on average, in tip-over incidents that are preventable.
The laminated chest of drawers were made between April 2016 and June 2016. The CPSC urges parents and caregivers to stop using it immediately and contact the company for a full refund.
