Authorities ID body found wrapped in tarp at Bethesda bus stop

In an effort to help identify the man, police released photos of his tattoos, clothing and personal items that were found with his body.

BETHESDA, Md. — The body of a man that was found wrapped in a tarp at a bus stop in Bethesda, Md. last Monday has been identified. 

The man has been identified as 25-year-old Francisco De La O De La Cruz of an unconfirmed address. 

The manner of death was determined to be homicide, but police have not released any additional details about how the man died.

The body was discovered by a passerby in the 10000 block of Old Georgetown Road around 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 25 in a grassy area at a bus stop. 

Police said the passerby looked inside of the bag and found the remains. 

In an effort to help identify the man, police released photos of his tattoos, clothing and personal items that were found with his body.

Police said they do not believe the homicide occurred at the same location where the body was found. 

The investigation is ongoing.
