ARLINGTON, Va. -- An arrest was made Wednesday afternoon after a woman was stabbed near Rossyln Metro station in Arlington, Va., police said.

The suspect has been identified as 61-year-old Isiah Hill of Washington D.C. He is being held in D.C. pending extradition to the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The victim was walking in the 1600 block of Fort Myer Drive on Dec. 8 around 6:45 p.m. when an unknown man approached her, pulled out a knife and stabbed her.

Police say the suspect fled the scene.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where she is in stable condition.
