WASHINGTON, D.C., USA — Caroline Boudreaux was on vacation with a friend in India when she visited her first orphanage. Her friend had been sponsoring a child she wanted to visit, and Caroline was skeptical about the program's legitimacy. But after traveling to a remote village, they met the child the friend had received pictures of in the mail. It was a relief to know the charity was not a scam, but the conditions the little boy and other children lived in raised larger concerns.
The children were malnourished and sleeping on wooden beds. Caroline couldn't forget what she had seen and when she returned to the US, she started The Miracle Foundation. The non-profit organization brings life-changing care to orphaned and vulnerable children around the world. Every effort is made to reunite these children with a living parent or member or their birth family. For children without family, every measure is taken to ensure they are loved, educated, healthy, and safe until a transition to a permanent family is made.
The Miracle Foundation collaborates with governments, other non-profits, and donors to transform the adoption system. Easterns Automotive Group proudly donated $2500 to the organization March 22, 2019. The Miracle Foundation's goal is to ensure every child has a safe, loving home by 2040. Donations help the organization plan for how many children they can provide consistent care to.
"It costs about $1260 to empower a child to go home and have a family," says Caroline. "Children as young as 8 are on the committee to decide where they go. They have the right to participate in these decisions that affect them." To Caroline these children are not victims. They are writing their own happy ending.
