Students to graduate from first-ever aerospace STEM program at PGCPS

Together they've been awarded almost $1 million from colleges all across the country.

LANHAM, Md. - A special group of Prince George's County seniors are about to soar into their next life chapter. On Tuesday, students in the first-ever Aerospace Engineering & Aviation Technology class at Duval High School will walk across the stage and receive their diplomas.

The specialized science, engineering, technology, and math program began four years ago as a partnership with NASA and the College Park Aviation Museum. Both are located within walking distance of the school in Lanham, Md.

The goal of the program is to give students a glimpse of careers they may not have considered.

There are about 70 students in the graduating class. Together they've been awarded almost $1 million from colleges all across the country.
