WASHINGTON -- Duty. Honor. Country. U.S. Army General Douglas MacArthur used these words back in 1962.

They still have meaning today. Especially for Herbert Valle of Loudoun County.

Valle served in the U.S. Navy from 1987 to 1994. He was there for Desert Shield, Desert Storm and Operation Provide Comfort, when the United States provided humanitarian support to the Kurdish people in northern Iraq.

Valle is also a survivor of September 11 attacks on the Pentagon.

Today, you will find Valle volunteering for the USO-Metro, supporting and volunteering for the Warriors to Lourdes Pilgrimage, and at the Civil Air Patrol of Leesburg. He also volunteers for VFW Post 1177 of Loudoun County and America Legion Post 2001 of Ashburn and the Marine Corps League of Purcellville, Virginia.

This Veterans Day, we thank Herbert Valle for his service and sacrifice.
