WASHINGTON — Three thieves robbing a 7th Street liquor store nearly sabotaged their own heist, MPD video shows.

Around 4:35 p.m. Dec. 24, three suspects entered a store in the 1700 block of 7th Street Northwest. When they got there, they took property and fled the scene.

Surveillance video provided my MPD shows the three suspects during the incident. The video shows the suspects jumping over the counter and removing bottles from the shelves. But 17 seconds in, things got slippery.

As one suspect leaned over the counter, another tripped and fell onto the ground. That didn't stop the suspects from carrying on. Police are still searching for and trying to identify the suspects.

Police are asking anyone who can identify them or has information on the incident to call (202) 727-9099, or to text your tip to the department's tip line at 50411.

On Dec. 26, a DoorDash delivery man was caught on camera making a fake pizza delivery to steal packages from a home in Alexandria.

Ken Prol said he was out of town on Dec. 26 when he got an alert on his Ring doorbell camera and watched a man carrying pizza boxes swipe packages from his porch. Prol said he yelled at the thief through the doorbell camera, but the porch pirate ran off.

The video shows the car passenger walking up to the door holding pizza boxes and pretending to ring the door bell. He looks around for a moment, a few unsuspecting cars drive by, then he swiftly grabs a few Amazon packages and runs back to the car.

Prol posted the video on the Next Door app and said a neighbor responded saying they recognized the thief in his video as the person that delivered their pizza.
