Bicyclist hit by SUV in NW DC, police seek driver

DC Metropolitan Police are searching for an unidentified SUV that hit a bicyclist in the 100 block of Florida Ave., northwest DC early Saturday morning.

WASHINGTON — DC Metropolitan Police said they are searching for an unidentified SUV that hit a bicyclist in the 100 block of Florida Ave., Northwest D.C. early Saturday morning.

According to police, the bicyclist was making a turn onto Florida Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Nov. 13 when the SUV hit the bicyclist. The driver of the SUV then drove off, fleeing the scene. 

The bicyclist, who has not been identified, was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

The vehicle is described as a silver or grey Lincoln Navigator, possibly model years 2003-2006.

Anyone who has any information on the hit-and-run, including identity of the driver or location of the SUV, is asked to call police at 202-727-9099 or text your tip to the police department's text tip line at 50411. A $1,000 reward is being offered by Crime Solvers of Washington, DC, to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for the crime.
