WASHINGTON -- Scores of shots can be heard in a raw video sent to WUSA9 by a resident of a fatal shooting in Northeast D.C.'s Eckington neighborhood.
Officers were called around 5 p.m. Saturday to the 100 block of T Street after the report of a shooting. Witnesses said they heard more than a dozen shots fired in the area.
A resident sent WUSA9 personal security camera video in which the audio picks up dozens of shots being fired before a white van is seen driving away.
The video was recorded around 5 p.m. near McKinley Tech High School.
When police arrived, they found a man unconscious and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Jonathan Hernandez of Southeast, D.C.
A second man was taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Police are searching for a white work van possibly a Ford E-150 with a black bumper and black grill, with damage to the driver's side.
Several witnesses told WUSA9 that they told police that the van seemed "suspicious and out of place."
The Eckington Civic Association tweeted that they want Mayor Muriel Bowser and Ward 5 Councilman Kenyan McDuffie to tell them what's going on.
Summit Place NE, T Street NE, and Todd Place NE were blocked off as part of the investigation.
MPD is offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
