15-year-old killed in Southeast shooting Sunday

Police say the 15-year old was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds upon arrival, then later pronounced dead.

WASHINGTON -- D.C. police are investigating a fatal shooting in the 3500 block of Wheeler Road, Southeast.

Around 10:30 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the call of a shooting and found a 15-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. 

After all lifesaving efforts failed, the boy was later pronounced dead, police said.

The victim has been identified as Maurice Scott, of Southeast, D.C.

A short while later, 3 female victims showed up at a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries as a result of the shooting, police said.

One of the female victims is a juvenile.

According to police, the passenger in an older model, light-colored, 4-door sedan got out of and opened fire after the vehicle pulled into a parking lot.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
