1 person dies after serious crash on the Outer Loop of the Beltway

The Outer Loop of the Beltway was closed for a couple of hours, but has since reopened.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — One person died after serious crash on the Outer Loop of the Capital Beltway near New Hampshire Avenue early Tuesday morning, officials said. 

Around 4 a.m., authorities said the car rolled over and bounced on a jersey wall. All four of the passengers have been taken to a local hospital where the victim later died. 

The conditions of the remaining victims are unknown at this time. 

The Outer Loop of the Beltway was closed for a couple of hours, but has since reopened.

On the Inner Loop of the Beltway between Connecticut Avenue and Georgia Avenue a tractor trailer jackknifed. It was carrying a load of newspapers and magazines. 

Only one lane was is open at this time on the Inner Loop.
