WASHINGTON — You have heard of restaurant week, but have you heard of cocktail week? The annual event is taking over the DMV with a pairing of good eats and signature drinks.
D.C. Cocktail Week, the annual weeklong event, runs from Monday, Nov. 28 through Sunday, Dec. 4. The event celebrates cocktail culture across the Metropolitan region featuring tasty cocktails, or mocktails, paired with delicious bites for one set price.
When mapping out plans for the week, over 50 restaurants are taking part in the festivities, just in time to cure Thanksgiving blues and ease the shopping woos before the holidays. The event, presented by the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington, will leave you singing 'you're the wine that I want!' as you enter the room.
In Virginia, restaurants like Yume Sushi in Arlington will be providing a signature cocktail and a chef-selected six small plate eating experience for $65. While Celebration by Rupa Vira in Ashburn will showcase featured pairings such as a zero proof cocktail and appetizer for $27.
Restaurants including The Daily Dish in Silver Spring and The Dish & Dram in Kensington are some of the locations that made the list for Maryland.
And across the District, the variety varies in the options and neighborhoods that people can find themselves sipping and taking a bite this week. Urban Roast in Penn Quarter will be providing customers with a choice of one espresso martini flavor and a personal charcuterie board for $34. The Henri, also in the Penn Quarter, will provide people with a $15 Belgium hot cocoa and brownie for those with a holiday sweet tooth.
Moving out of Penn Quarter and into the Mt. Vernon Triangle area of D.C., the Yardbird is offering a watermelon sling and BBQ brisket loaded fries.
The list goes on... and on... and on with options that could make your mouth water or just peek your interest to try something new. The pairings provide people with different cuisine options and a variety of price points to meet your wallet needs.
