Take a peek inside the Day & Night Cereal Bar opening in Virginia

The only cereal bar in Virginia is opening inside Springfield Town Center.

SPRINGFIELD, Va. — Cereal tastes good no matter the time of day, and now you can turn breakfast into dessert.

Day & Night Cereal Bar is opening its newest DMV location in Springfield Town Center. The cereal bar specializes in custom-made cereal-based treats including cereal bars, cereal waffles, cereal shakes, cereal donuts and cereal cupcakes.

The business started in May 2020  in Santa Monica, California, at the height over the COVID-19 pandemic. Now there are 21 franchises across the country.

Co-owners Brandi Forte and Noel Warren, local to the DMV, say this location is unique because in addition to offering more than 50 different cereals, there are also healthier cereals from which to choose, including specially made cereal geared towards diabetics.

"If you have underlying health conditions, if you're diabetic, we have diabetic-friendly cereal. We have keto-cereal. We can cut the calories down, cut the sugar down, make it no sugar at all," said Forte.

A grand opening ceremony is happening Saturday, March 17, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Forte says there will be games, prizes, and discounts for the community to enjoy.

"It feels good to give back to the community. So many young people are going to benefit, so many adults are going to benefit. It reminds you of your childhood, during the '70s, '80s, '90s, when life was good. When we didn't have a care in the world," said Forte.

The co-owners will also debut limited edition shakes dedicated to their spouses who died.

"We're taking tragedy and we're turning triumph out of it we're taking pain and turning it into purpose," said Forte.
