Akron family uses pandemic as opportunity to travel the country

"Where the Wynn's Take You."

AKRON, Ohio — We all know when life hands you lemons you make lemonade, but when life handed the Wynn family a pandemic, they took it as an opportunity to travel the world.

“COVID created all these new circumstances but everyone has the ability to look around them and adapt,” said Josh Wynn.

One day at the COVID cabana he came up with the idea to quarantine inside of a camper for next nine months instead of his family's Akron home.

“Josh was hanging out with his friend drinking some whiskey and said 'you know what would be cool? We should just hit the road and get out of here because the kids are virtual schooling every day,” explained his wife, Shane Wynn.

So they did, they came up with a plan to rent out their house to students from the University of Akron to pay the bills, brought a camper and then packed up and hit the road.

“Maybe it’s not as comfortable as usual but there’s still a way to enjoy your life be expanding your brain in different ways,” says Shane.

And like any long family trip things have gone wrong, and the kids have been homesick.
