Thanksgiving is right around the corner! Before you head out to your Thanksgiving getaways, take a look at what the DMV has to offer this weekend.

Maryland Christmas Show

Where: Frederick County Fairgrounds - 797 East Patrick St.

When: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Start your holiday shopping early at the Maryland Christmas Show. Featuring an array of artists, the show offers seven buildings of holiday crafts. Ranging from Christmas ornaments to jewelry or furniture, the show will make shopping fun for everyone! The event concludes on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday's hours remain the same from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission prices vary.

Washington Harbour Ice Rink

Where: Washington Harbour - 3050 J St. NW

When: Various times

The Washington Harbour Ice Rink opens this weekend! Skate alongside the Potomac River and enjoy a hot beverage at one of the rink-side restaurants. D.C.'s largest outdoor ice skating venue offers weekly skating events including college night and two for one Tuesdays. Rental skates, helmets and penguin skate aids are available. Fees and times vary.

National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden Ice Rink

Where: National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden - 9th St. & Constitution Avenue NW

When: Various times

Between Saturday and mid-March you can enjoy the spectacular view of amazing sculptures at the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden Ice Rink. With panoramic views of the Sculpture Garden, the Pavilion Cafe has a seasonal menu full of hot beverages and seasonal delights. Skate rentals, skating lessons and seasonal passes are offered. Fees and times vary.

Montgomery County Thanksgiving Parade

Where: Silver Spring Civic Building - 1 Veterans Plaza

When: 10 a.m.

Celebrate Thanksgiving a week early with Montgomery County's Thanksgiving parade. The event includes marching bands, Thanksgiving floats in addition to live musical and dance performances. The parade will start at Ellsworth Drive at the Civic Building and head south on Georgia Avenue to Silver Spring Avenue. The annual event celebrates 21 years on Saturday.

Tree Lighting Festival

Where: Smokehouse Live - 1602 Village Market Blvd. SE

When: 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Kick off the holiday season at Leesburg's eighth annual Tree Lighting Festival. Enjoy live musical performances, cozy fire pits and a whole bunch of other ways to find your holiday cheer. Attendees are encouraged to bring a toy to donate to Toys for Tots. If weather permits, horse-drawn carriage rides will be available.
