WASHINGTON — The weather is becoming cooler and we are swapping out our bright colored shorts and tops for dark-colored sweaters and jeans. With fall, typical outfit colors are darker hues. However, that does not mean you can't incorporate bright and bold colors to your wardrobe. All-black outfits and darker colors are the perfect canvas for bright accessories. Here are a few ways you can add some zest to your fall outfits!

Bold lipstick

While dark lip colors are perfect for the fall, keep the bright colors in your reach too. A bright, bold, red lipstick can add spice to an all-black outfit. Want to step out of the box even more? That purple lipstick you bought in the summer can pair great with a little black dress on a night out.

Steer away from the traditional oversized brown purse this fall and look for other colors and sizes. While they do not have to be bright, look at a variety of other colors. Purples, yellows and reds are versatile purse colors that can be incorporated with almost every outfit in your wardrobe, the same way a brown or black bag can.

Jackets

Finding the right fall jacket can be quite tricky. Looking for a jacket that can handle the degree change throughout the day adds to the challenge. However, when looking for a coat, step outside of the box and find a nice colorful jacket. A baby blue pea coat could be the perfect fall staple, or a vintage neon-colored windbreaker.

Nail color

The easiest way to incorporate new colors into your wardrobe is by painting your nails. You might fall in love with a certain color, or learn which colors don't suit your skin tone. Try picking out a color that you traditionally would not pick out on your own and see what happens!
