Diggin' in the crates to keep the nostalgia of Hip-Hop alive

Back in the day when things were cool and you were rapping to the beat.

WASHINGTON — Hip-Hop has proven it's staying power with decades of hits and crossover appeal, even though many doubted even it's possibility of longevity.

The history is vastly available but a little recap: the genre launched in 1970 in the Bronx, NY. Now fast forward to 2020 in Washington, DC and Matthew Talley, founder and curator of Connect the Cool has created one of DC's most nostalgic Hip-Hop installations and event highlighting the preservation of hip-hop culture, Diggin' Thru the Crates.

The event allows you to select your vinyl and deliver it to the resident DJ, who will play your request! You can join in on the fun on Saturday, February 8th.

Event Details:

Date: Saturday, February 8th, 2020

Location: Warehouse 1360 (1360 Okie St NE, Washington, DC)
