SocaBounce fitness brings island vibes to unique fitness program

The program uses footwear called rebound boots while to help people get in shape.

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. — Okeemah Henderson and her twin sister Raakeebah Mann have created a new fitness program that shares and educates people about the Caribbean culture while getting people in shape.

The program, called SocaBounce Fitness, uses rebound boots to offer a unique twist on high-intensity, low-impact cardio sessions in Upper Marlboro and Bowie, Maryland.

The indoor and outdoor fitness classes are choreographed to the Caribbean genre of Soca music and other Caribbean genres.

The sisters also takes their show on the road using the Karnival Bounce Crew. KBC incorporates the same fit and healthy lifestyle as SocaBounce while bringing to life the rhythm, music and festival feel of the islands through the utilization of rebound boots as a participant in Caribbean carnivals as a masquerader, or entertaining the crowds at multicultural events and stage shows nationwide and abroad.
