WASHINGTON — Prior to calling Washington, D.C. home, Kolbie Satterfield lived in Charleston, South Carolina where she worked for the CBS affiliate, Live 5 News. Before that she worked for KOMU-TV in Columbia, Missouri and interned with London Live in London.

In Charleston, Kolbie covered hurricanes, uncovered sex trafficking, and highlighted the wrongdoings in the local education system. She also provided coverage for the CBS Evening News and CBSN.

Originally from Missouri, journalism wasn’t always the path she thought she’d set out on. Growing up in a small town and spending her time working on her 4-H and FFA projects, she had originally wanted to work for John Deere. It wasn’t until her senior year in high school that a spur of the moment decision to tour the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism changed her life course. From that moment on she knew telling stories was what her future would hold.

Kolbie couldn’t be happier to call D.C. home and to tell your stories across the DMV!

When she’s not working she’s food exploring and looking for the next restaurant to add to her growing food list. You can follow along on Instagram here.
