37-year-old killed in Southeast DC shooting identified

Police located the victim in the 3200 block of E Street.

WASHINGTON — A 37-year-old man was killed in a shooting in Southeast DC on Monday, the Metropolitan Police Department said.

Around 10:17 a.m., members of the Sixth District responded to the 3200 block of E Street for a report of a shooting. When police arrived, they located a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The man has since been identified as Dana Bailey, 37, of Southeast, DC. 

The Metropolitan Police Department offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia. 

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411.
