Two tornadoes touch down in Southern Maryland

Southern Maryland residents spent Sunday cleaning up after two tornadoes touched down in the area.

ST. MARY'S COUNTY, Md. (WUSA9) -- Southern Maryland residents spent Sunday cleaning up after two tornadoes touched down in the area.

The National Weather Service confirmed that two tornadoes hit the region Saturday afternoon, causing substantial damage.

Houses were destroyed in St. Mary's County, trees up were uprooted and many residents lost power. Fortunately, there are no reports of injuries or fatalities.
