WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -  A cold front is moving in from the west and has triggered yet another round of showers and T-storms. Heavy rain is the main threat from this second round of storms. Flash flooding is likely from these storms as they move through the Metro Area by Midnight.

Earlier this evening severe storms around Winchester produced a funnel cloud shortly after 5:00 PM. We have received numerous reports of hail from Strasburg, VA to Berkeley Springs, WV.

Storms produced heavy rain in upper Montgomery County and in Howard county. We have reports of two to four inches of rain and swift boat rescues in the Damascus area. Flash Flood Warning continue in those counties until 12:30 am. Remember never cross a flooded street by foot or by car. The strong storms will give way to showers well before midnight.

On Friday, we will see some late clearing with spotty showers that taper off Friday afternoon. The Memorial Day weekend looks rather brisk. Highs will struggle to reach seventy Saturday with lows in the forties in the suburbs Friday and Saturday night.
